My name is Jackie,

I am a board-certified speech-language pathologist. I was born and raised in Norfolk. I received my bachelor’s in 2013 and my master’s in 2015, both from Old Dominion University.

Over the past 9 years, I have provided speech therapy services in outpatient pediatric settings across Hampton Roads. I have a passion for Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) and I am trained in both PROMPT and DTTC treatment methods. I have also administered the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule-2 (ADOS-2). As a neurodivergent therapist, I have a unique understanding of some of the things our children and families face, and I am a strong advocate of a child-led, neurodiversity affirming approach to therapy. I am currently working to complete the Meaningful Speech training for Gestalt Language Processing. It is truly a privilege to help children and their families as they learn to communicate together!

In my free time, you will find me cuddling with my cats, Lexi and O’Malley, or exploring new local restaurants with my husband. I enjoy crafting, writing poetry, and reading.
